I’m wearing a suit to work today – I work at an Internet company – NO ONE wears a suit. I don’t have a reason to be wearing a suit so I’m going to tell people that I am meeting with a publisher about my book deal which I don’t have, but keep talking about; “I’m going to put that in my book.” — 0r, I will tell them I have an interview with the brokerage firm JT Marlin — or, that I just got back from the LA river for a funereal for my gold fish Sparkles; we were really close. Either way, I’ve suited up.
Tomorrow I’m going to either wear a Canadian tuxedo or a dress to work. Does anyone one still have a jeans jacket, or a denim vest, acid washed jeans or a pretty little number I could borrow? After that, I was thinking about showing up everyday wearing a random Halloween costumes. I mean, what’s a guy got to do to get noticed around here?
Update: All of my bosses thought I had an interview at another company and when I told them that I just felt like wearing a suit, they thought I was obviously lying and didn’t appreciate that I wasn’t straightforward with them. They told me my excuses about just wanting to wear a suit was pretty weak and that they didn’t buy it. Ohh well, it was the truth.
